Chelsea agree shock striker deal as Bayern Munich make final Nicolas Jackson transfer decision

Send Push

Chelsea have less than 24 hours to wrap up any remaining transfer business. The Blues have forked out about £280 million on new players this summer, yet they've shown no sign of slowing down ahead of Monday night's deadline.

Facundo Buonanotte looks set to join on loan from Brighton and Fermin Lopez continues to be, albeit now thinly, linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. A new face or two wouldn't go amiss, but there are still a lot of players looking for a new club.

Nicolas Jackson's future is still up in the air, while Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling have failed to attract any interest. Meanwhile, Axel Disasi has been mooted as a potential target for Crystal Palace.

Even Tyrique George faces an uncertain future following the arrival of a few forwards late in the window. So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up the latest Chelsea transfer news.

Bayern pull out of Chelsea deal

football.london understands that Bayern Munich have pulled out of a deal to sign Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea. The 24-year-old striker, who flew to Germany this weekend to undergo a medical and finalise a move to the Bundesliga champions, will return to west London.

The Blues pulled the plug after Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury during the 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday afternoon. It's understood that Bayern have decided they'll focus on other targets ahead of the fast-approaching summer transfer window deadline.

football.london says: "I hope Nicolas Jackson can lock in, focus and reintegrate himself. He can play a key role at Chelsea this season, so I hope he's ready – mentally and physically. He may not start every game, but he'll certainly influence games. If he still ends up leaving, I reckon he goes to Newcastle United."

Chelsea recall Guiu from Sunderland

According to The Telegraph journalist Matt Law, Chelsea have reached an agreement with Sunderland to recall Marc Guiu. The 19-year-old striker joined the Black Cats on a season-long loan earlier this month, and he hit the ground running, scoring on his first start.

football.london says: "Marc Guiu has been brought back to cover Liam Delap – not Nicolas Jackson. I think the Senegalese star goes to Newcastle on deadline day. Meanwhile, the teenager looks set for an exciting role in Maresca's side this season. He showed great promise last season until he suffered an unfortunate injury."

Leipzig race to sign Sporting striker

According to Fabrizio Romano, RB Leipzig are closing in on a deal to sign Conrad Harder from Sporting. The 20-year-old striker was briefly linked with a move to Chelsea on Saturday when Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury.

The report claims that the Bundesliga outfit are at the final stages of reaching a verbal agreement. It's said that the details of a deal are being ironed out before Harder flies to Germany and undergoes a medical.

football.london says: "I saw a few reports suggesting that Chelsea might go for Conrad Harder following Delap's injury. Unless you're bringing in Alexander Isak, it doesn't make sense for the Blues to sign a new striker on deadline day. Assuming Jackson is still sold, Guiu is more than good enough to deputise Delap and Joao Pedro."
