Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) is preparing to implement new rules for 10th-12th board exams. The education board is planning to implement such a policy, so that no student will fail in high school and intermediate board exams. At the same time, after the implementation of this scheme, no student will get compartment in the board exam. According to this new rule, board examinations can also be conducted twice a year.
According to media reports, the board can implement this new scheme from March 2026. The first board exam can be conducted in March and the second in July. If a student fails in the first board exam or gets low marks in any subject, then he can appear in the second board exam.
Its goal is to reduce exam pressure, reduce dropout rate, and encourage students. Education Minister Rohit Thakur has described it as a step towards positive change in the mental health of students and the education system.
At the same time, according to Dr. Major Vishal Sharma, Secretary of the School Education Board, the proposal prepared for the improvement policy has been sent to the government. It will be implemented from March 2026 as soon as the government approves it. Examinations will be conducted accordingly.
