The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially announced the final results for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) 2025 recruitment today, October 1, 2025. The recruitment process, which began in November 2024, saw multiple examination stages before reaching the final selection of candidates.
Final Selection and Next StepsA total of 18,735 candidates have successfully cleared the written examination phases. These candidates are now eligible for document verification (DV) and medical examinations, which are the next steps in the selection process. After successfully completing these stages, the final list of selected Assistant Loco Pilots will be released.
The ALP position is considered one of the critical safety roles in Indian Railways, responsible for the safe and smooth operation of trains across the network.
Recruitment Process TimelineThe ALP recruitment process started last year with the first Computer-Based Test (CBT-1) conducted from November 25 to 29, 2024. The second CBT (CBT-2) took place on May 2 and 6, 2025. Subsequently, the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) was conducted on July 15 and August 31, 2025.
Candidates who successfully cleared all these stages—18,735 in total—have now been shortlisted for document verification and medical tests.
Number of ApplicantsThis year, over 49 lakh candidates applied online for the ALP recruitment. By comparison, the 2018 ALP recruitment saw around 25 lakh applications. For RRB Ranchi alone, 45,449 applications were recorded.
Training After SelectionAll candidates who successfully complete document verification and medical tests will undergo 120 days of training. Only after completing this mandatory training will they be formally appointed as Assistant Loco Pilots.

Open the document verification list link to check your roll number.
To view your scorecard, click “Link to view scorecard”, fill in the required details, and submit.
The scorecard will appear on your screen and can be downloaded for reference.

CBT-1: Around 25–30 lakh candidates appeared. Typically, only 50–60% of applicants take the exam.
