Earlier this year, Saif Ali Khan made headlines after sustaining injuries during a burglary attempt at his and Kareena Kapoor's Bandra residence. Now, recently his sister Soha Ali Khan revealed that her own Mumbai home had once been broken into, recalling a frightening episode where her husband, actor Kunal Kemmu, came face-to-face with an intruder despite being physically injured at the time.
When Intruder Entered Soha and Kunal’s home
In an interview with Hauterrfly, Soha shared that the incident took place years ago when she and Kunal were asleep at their Mumbai residence. Around 4 a.m., they heard a noise inside their bedroom. At the time, Kunal’s hand was in a cast due to an injury he had sustained while shooting for Go Goa Gone. Despite that, he got up to investigate.
According to Soha, when Kunal pulled back the curtain, he was startled to find a grown man standing in their room. A scuffle followed, during which Kunal kicked the intruder, and both of them tumbled into the balcony. Meanwhile, Soha frantically tried to reach the police.
The thief eventually fell from the balcony and lay injured on the ground. Soha recalled that when Kunal returned inside, he believed the man might not have survived the fall and had died. However, the intruder was later found alive, though badly hurt, and was eventually taken into custody. Soha confirmed that Kunal himself escorted the man to the police station that night.
After the Attack
Speaking to Instant Bollywood, Soha admitted that the break-in was a deeply unsettling experience. She said that having two such incidents within the same family—her brother being stabbed during a burglary and her own house being targeted years earlier—was disturbing. While comparing the two, she emphasized that the violence in Saif’s case made it particularly alarming.
She also reflected on women’s safety, noting how her childhood in Delhi was shaped by a lack of streetlights and curfews set by her parents. She added that although she was fortunate not to rely on public transport, she was aware of the unsafe situations many women face daily.
On Work Front
The couple, who met in 2009 during the making of Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge, married in 2015 and are parents to a daughter, Inaaya.
On the career front, Soha was recently seen in the horror film Chhorii 2, which premiered on an OTT platform in April 2025. Kunal, meanwhile, directed the comedy-drama Madgaon Express in 2024, which earned praise from both critics and audiences.
Both have also ventured into digital platforms, with Soha launching her podcast All About Her and Kunal sharing his music journey on YouTube.
