Wedding bells are ringing in the Tendulkar household! Arjun Tendulkar, the 25-year-old cricketer and son of India’s beloved batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, is officially engaged. The bride-to-be is Saaniya Chandok, granddaughter of prominent Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai, whose family owns the InterContinental hotel and Brooklyn Creamery, as reported by India Today.
The news has sent fans into a frenzy, marking the union of two influential Mumbai families in a celebration that was as private as it was glamorous. The engagement ceremony was an intimate affair, attended only by close friends and family from both sides.
About Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandhok
Arjun has made a name for himself as a left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder representing Goa in domestic cricket and the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He started his professional career with Mumbai in the 2020-2021 season before shifting to Goa, where he’s been delivering strong performances in both First-Class and List A matches.
Saaniya, too, has carved her own path. She is a London School of Economics graduate and is the founder of Mr Paws, a premium pet salon, spa, and store in Mumbai. Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP is Saaniya’s venture, launched in 2022, where she serves as both Designated Partner and Director.
Saaniya hails from a family with some serious dessert cred. The Ghai clan runs the Graviss Group, the name behind The Brooklyn Creamery and Baskin-Robbins in India. While The Brooklyn Creamery’s own numbers are under wraps, the parent company pulled in a sweet Rs 624 crore in revenue in FY23-24 — a 20% jump from the previous year.
