India took a lead of 244 runs on the third day. England were all out for 407 runs in the first innings. Earlier, India had scored 587 runs in the first innings; on this basis, they got a lead of 180 runs. In the second innings, India has scored 64 runs for one wicket till stumps. KL Rahul is present at the crease with 28 runs in 38 balls, and Karun Nair with seven runs in 18 balls. Josh Tongue gave the first blow to India in the second innings. The second session of the game ended at a score of 355/5. However, in the third session, Akash Deep made Harry Brook his victim and broke the partnership of more than 300 runs with Smith. Brook was out after scoring 158 runs in 234 balls with the help of 17 fours and a six. At the same time, Smith remained unbeaten after scoring 184 runs in 207 balls with the help of 21 fours and four sixes. Apart from Smith, Akash Deep got Chris Woakes caught by Karun Nair in the third session. He could score only five runs. After this, Siraj sent Brydon Carse, Josh Tongue, and Shoaib Bashir to the pavilion. All three could not even open their account. In England's first innings, Mohammad Siraj took six wickets and Akash Deep took four wickets for India.
