Amazon surprise sale knocks up to 72% off Apple, Ninja and Google gadgets

Amazon has launched a surprise sale offering up to 50% off ‘high-quality’ returned and refurbished items. Running until September 9, the Second Chance Deal Days sale marks the first time Amazon has run a major sale on second-hand products.

There’s discounted products up for grabs across nearly all of Amazon’s categories, including tech, gaming, home and kitchen, fitness, and toys. The retail giant says there are more than 30 million second-hand products available in the UK, including from top brands like Apple, Ninja and Google.

Among the standout items are Apple’s AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation for £129, a saving of £50 compared to Apple’s £179 price tag. Gamers can get their hands on an Xbox Series X for £294.87, down from £368.59 thanks to an automatic 20% discount at checkout.

This console comes in ‘acceptable’ condition, so it may have signs of cosmetic damage or other signs of previous use. The main thing to consider with Amazon’s Second Chance Deal Days sale is the price shoppers pay will depend on the condition of a product, with conditions ranging from ‘Used - Acceptable’ to ‘Used - Like New’.

Regardless of condition, Amazon assures that all of its products sold through Amazon Resale go through a quality check and serve their main function. This goes for the Google Fitbit Sense 2 Health and Fitness Smartwatch, available for £60.19.

This gadget has a ‘minor cosmetic imperfection’, but is more than £155 or 72% cheaper than buying a brand-new model for £219. For those who prefer to buy new, Sky Mobile is dishing out the Google Pixel Watch 3 for £4 per month when ordered with any smartphone from the new Pixel 10 series, as well as a trade-in bonus of up to £250 on top of the value of an old phone.

PlayStation fans can find the PlayStation Portal Remote Reader in ‘very good’ condition for £156.82. This device allows gamers to play their PS5 games in the palm of their hand without needing to play on a TV, with Argos stocking the same model for £199.99 with a new ‘special offer’.

There’s also an Apple iPhone 13 128GB in ‘very good’ condition for £321.09. This model was released in 2021 and is also available with a Wowcher refurbished deal from £249, but this cheaper option comes in ‘acceptable’ condition.

Finally, the popular Ninja Double Stack XL Air Fryer is also on offer with a big discount of more than £100, now down to £161.91 for a ‘very good’ model. This provides a much more affordable alternative to buying new from Amazon or Ninja for £269 or £269.99 respectively.
