EastEnders fans can finally mark their calendars as Sharon Watts, portrayed by Letitia Dean, is set to return to Albert Square later this month.
The iconic character has been absent from the show since January, leaving viewers eager for her comeback. Eagle-eyed fans spotted Sharon in a trailer teasing the soap’s autumn episodes, prompting speculation about her return date.
Members of a popular fan forum now suggest that Sharon will reappear in Week 38, starting September 15. This aligns with predictions made in late July, when another fan indicated that the character would return within “six to eight weeks’ time.”
Viewers expressed their excitement online, with one posting: “As much as I’ve desperately missed Sharon and Letitia’s presence on the show, the break has really reinvigorated my love for the character and I’m really hyped for her return. It almost feels like she’s starting a brand new stint.”

Another echoed: "I just have a feeling she'll be back after that trailer. It's Sharon's turn to stir some things up again in the square."
Fans are also theorising about Sharon’s potential storylines as one suggested: “Give her a new husband who turns out to be KEANU’S DAD! I think this would be an incredible storyline.
"Plus it'd actually be a pretty decent justification for getting rid of Bernie, who'd obviously know who he is already. If Shane (as he's been previously named) found out the truth from Bernie off-screen, it'd make a lot of sense.”

Sharon’s last on-screen moments saw her leaving Walford to visit her friend Michelle in Australia following Martin Fowler’s funeral.
The death occurred a year after a dramatic Christmas storyline in which Sharon’s ex, Keanu Taylor, was fatally stabbed by Linda Carter during a violent confrontation.
During that storyline, Linda also intervened to protect Sharon when Keanu attacked her in a dispute over the paternity of Albie Watts.
The latest trailer shows Sharon alongside Patrick Trueman, huddled under an umbrella as rain pours down, while observing Zoe Slater’s highly anticipated return.
Zoe’s comeback has already reunited her with her mother, Kat, and saw her caught in a stray bullet incident following a fight between Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
Zoe and Kat, part of the original Slater sisters, became fan favourites in the early 2000s.
Michelle, who left Walford in 2005, has since appeared in films including 4.3.2.1. and Cockneys vs Zombies, as well as BBC series such as Doctor Who and Merlin.
Reflecting on past career choices, Michelle noted: “I’ve always taken chances. I think that’s how you progress.”
With her return just days away, Albert Square residents and viewers alike are gearing up for Sharon’s next chapter.
