The destiny of Netflix's gritty new period drama House of Guinness has reportedly been unveiled.

The captivating series debuted on the streaming platform just days ago and has already left viewers "hooked".

Set amidst the turmoil of 1860s Dublin, it chronicles the influential family who established the world's largest brewery, and the inheritance passed to four siblings, Arthur (Anthony Boyle), Edward (Louis Partridge), Anne (Emily Fairn), and Ben (Fionn O'Shea).

As they strive to honour their heritage and preserve one of the globe's most renowned dynasties, family, political and social pressures are poised to reach breaking point.

"The Guinness heirs are met by allies, enemies, complicated love interests, and more as each character fights for their own best interests as well as that of the family business," Netflix Tudum revealed, reports Dublin Live.

Drawing from history, the ensemble also features Happy Valley's James Norton, Niamh McCormack, Seamus O'Hara and Michael McElhatton.

Viewers have been praising the programme since it launched days ago, and it has now reportedly been greenlit for a second series.

An insider told The Sun: "Not only have viewers been binging the series, it's also achieved the unusual feat of winning over most telly critics too.

"Which is no wonder given the huge budget the show had, along with a stellar cast and, of course, the fact that it comes from the pen of Peaky Blinder creator Steven Knight."

The Mirror has approached Netflix for comment.

Steven had previously expressed his ambitions for upcoming series, disclosing in a Q&A: "I think what we have got with this show is something that is spectacularly successful in the way that it's executed.

"But also it's like, it's a very human thing and these people who are doing this thing are making something that I believe is going to be something great.

"It's like Peaky, it's going to be huge, it's going to be great."

Whilst Netflix hasn't yet formally commissioned a second series, when questioned about extending the storyline, he declared: "Yes, of course. We are going to do season two, and three, and four.

"Yes absolutely, we are going to do this all the way to the 1960s."

This follows after devotees confessed to "binging" the programme within days of its launch.

"8 GLORIOUS episodes SPECTACULARLY flew by," one gushed, whilst another shared: "It's very addictive after the first episode, the script has some great lines, the story is authentic, excellent pacing and Anthony Boyle is a scene stealer as Arthur Guinness. It's definitely one to get into."

Another penned: "Excellent. A combination of Succession, Peaky Blinders with a touch of Bridgerton. The music is modern and well chosen."

Someone else commented: "Outstanding storytelling. Captivating cinematography. Brilliant execution of the plot and stays with you. Historical backdrop that feels refreshingly modern gives it an energetic flair making it a binge-watch worthy series, definitely one of the best of 2025."
