Gogglebox has returned to our screens, but just how much do the stars of this Channel 4 sensation earn?
The 26th series of Gogglebox kicked off earlier this month, featuring our favourite telly enthusiasts such as Ellie and Izzie Warner, the Siddiqui family, and best mates Jenny Newby and Lee Riley.
Despite the show's simple premise of filming people as they react to the latest TV programmes, it doesn't mean that its cast members aren't handsomely compensated for their contributions.

It's widely believed that each participating family or household on Gogglebox receives a monthly stipend of £1,500. This equates to an annual sum of £18,000.
This amount is shared among the household members and is intended to compensate them for their time and cover any costs associated with filming.

But the perks don't stop at the pay. as the Gogglebox stars also enjoy other benefits from their participation in the show.
During filming sessions, the production team treats them to a complimentary takeaway of their choice as they settle in for around 12 hours of weekly TV viewing.
Additionally, their Gogglebox fame occasionally grants them access to glitzy events such as the National Television Awards and the BAFTAs.
However, the show's producers enforce a strict "no celebrities" policy, which prevents the cast from engaging in other public projects or appearing on other shows.
This rule is in place to maintain their status as "ordinary people", explaining why some of the show's biggest stars have departed.
Scarlett Moffatt bid farewell to the show in 2016 to chase other ventures, including a spot on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, and she even clinched victory on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!
On the other hand, original Gogglebox favourites, the Tapper family, made their exit in 2018 as children Josh and Amy found themselves increasingly occupied with work commitments and university.
Gogglebox is available to watch on Channel 4 and All4.
