Meghan Markle and Harry's very awkward red carpet moment

During a rare joint appearance on the red carpet, Meghan Markleappeared to awkwardly ask her husband to move his hand from her behind, which saw Prince Harry respond with a nervous smile.

Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, attended the Project Healthy Minds gala in New York earlier this week, where they were honoured as 'Humanitarians of the Year'.

The Sussexes,who co-founded the Archewell Foundation, were awarded this prestigious accolade in recognition of their efforts to make the digital world safer for families and youngsters.

As they graced the red carpet at the gala, the couple posed for photos, but an unusual interaction was spotted as Harry cosied up to his wife and placed his hand on her bottom.

While it might have been seen as an affectionate moment between the pair, Meghan seemed uncomfortable and swiftly turned to Harry and appeared to ask him to move his hand.

In a video from the red carpet, the duke is shown responding with an awkward smile before moving his hand onto her lower back instead.

Swiftly moving on from the interaction, they proceeded to take photos on the red carpet while Meghan also had her arm around Harry's back.

In addition, royal watchers claimed that during their appearance, Harry tried to hurry his wife along by taking Meghan's hand and leading her away after she lingered for photos.

Sources alleged that Harry could have whispered "come on now" to Meghan as he attempted to move them on.

In further footage from the event that was taken backstage, Harry was caught speaking to someone while Meghan stood patiently nearby waiting for the interaction to finish.

Sharing an insight into this moment, a source revealed: "She seems to be making a real effort to look demure, not overshadow him the whole red carpet."

At the event, Meghan was praisedas "a mother, wife, entrepreneur, and philanthropist".

The duke's work with mental health organisations and his controversial tell-all memoir Spare were highlighted as part of his accomplishments.

While on stage in New York, the Duchess spoke about her children Archie and Lilibet, and the perils of the online environment.

She stated: "Our children, Archie and Lili, are just six and four years old. Luckily still too young for social media, but we know that day is coming.

"Like so many parents, we think constantly about how to embrace technology's benefits, while safeguarding against its dangers. That hopeful intention of separation is rapidly becoming impossible."

Harry joined his wife on stage and added: "This is a pivotal moment in our collective mission to protect children and support families in a digital age."
