Primark shoppers have been divided after vegetable-themed items were put on display in stores - with claims the brand is "wishing away" summer. Others were thrilled to see it, though, and were already planning their next shopping haul with the budget retailer.
TikTok user Abby (@abbyandbambi) alerted other Primark shoppers to a so-called 'code orange' arrival in her local Primark. She filmed a small display in the home section brimming with pumpkin-shaped products and ornaments, and pumpkin-spiced items, including candles.
Botanically speaking, a pumpkin is classified as a fruit. It grows from the flower of the pumpkin plant and has seeds inside. But in the kitchen, pumpkins are usually considered vegetables, especially in savoury recipes.

In the 35-second video, which has been viewed by more than 451,000 people, Abby shows a pumpkin-scented reed diffuser, a pumpkin spice latte pillow, a throw blanket with small pumpkins dotted about and a collection of plates. The overview also includes a look at other items being sold by Primark, including mugs, candles, napkins, and other ornaments.
In the caption of her now viral video, she wrote: "Never too early for us autumn gals!" People were quick to share opinions on the display spread, which appeared in a Primark store during one of the hottest weeks of summer so far.
One said: "I’ll be heading there asap" Another added: "I’d live in this vibe tbh!" And, a third wrote: "Omg my favourite season!" The actual Primark TikTok account said: "It's always autumn to us!"
However, some were not impressed by the discount fashion store speeding through the calendar and "forgetting" summer already. There was one TikTok user who replied: "No wonder folk hate Christmas with retailers forcing stuff on people. Just chill, it's summertime now, and it's actually hot. Plenty time for autumn and wintery stuff, trust me!"
Another added: "Behave, stop wishing the days away!" A third person commented: "Sorry, no, we are in the middle of summer." One more joked, " I’m sure it gets earlier every year!"

Recently, shoppers were able to browse an early release of spooky items in Primark. The retailer put out a collection of candles, throws, and home decor adorned with ghosts and ghouls. People defended the move by insisting it was "perfect for Summerween"—an early celebration of Halloween.
In other Primark news, shoppers who are getting prepared for the current season have been impressed by some of the clothing options for sale at the discount store. People shared their best finds online, such as this 'gorgeous' £25 summer dress, a '70s-inspired' summer outfit for £28 and a' hidden gem' £20 outfit shoppers 'can't wait' to wear on holiday.
People are also raving about the bags in Primark, which, at a glance, could be confused for something much more high-end. Our shopping team recently highlighted one £50 leather bag that 'elevates' any outfit 'so similar' to £200 brand, as well as a 'sleek' £10 bag that looks 'just like' £1,650 Celine version.
