Roman Kemp has confessed that a moment involving Ryan Giggs nearly led him to abandon his support for Arsenal. The One Show host, who will be fronting the Premier League Friday show on Sky Sports News this season, has been a die-hard fan of the Premier Leagueteam since he was young.
During an appearance on show last year, Kemp shared his childhood football memories, revealing his first Arsenal kit and his favourite player.
Brought up as a Gunners supporter by his dad, Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp, the 32-year-old has consistently backed the club over the years. However, he shockingly admitted there was a point when he was determined not to follow the north London side any longer.

When asked about a football memory he'd like to erase, Kemp instantly responded: "Ryan Giggs". Referring to the Manchester United legend's unforgettable solo goal in extra time that defeated Arsenal in the 1999 FA Cup semi-final, he confessed that even after 25 years, it still haunts him, reports Football London.
"I can't even listen to that commentary," he expressed. "When that goal went in, it was the first time I ever cried about football, and my dad didn't speak to me for like three days because I said I'm not supporting Arsenal again."
His emotions were certainly high at the time, but they didn't last. Kemp's passion for football makes him a perfect fit for Sky's newest show ahead of the 2025/26 season that kicks off on Friday, with reigning champions Liverpool taking on Bournemouth.
Sky Sports News is set to launch 'The Premier League Show', a new addition to the football content calendar, airing Monday to Friday from 5pm to 7pm. Kemp will host Friday's edition of the programme, broadcasting live from the studio each week.
Kemp's first show will air before the season-opener at Anfield and will be shown on Sky Sports News, Sky Sports Premier League, and Sky Sports Main Event.
Upon the announcement, Kemp expressed his excitement and commitment to the sport he's adored all his life. He said: "Football means more to me than anything.
"To be a part of a show like this building up to the biggest games in world football is a real privilege. I can't wait to get going and as a fan, do this show justice."
Kemp will be hoping his club earn a first Premier League title since 2004 after three seasons of finishing second in a row. Mikel Arteta has certainly strengthened his squad by signing Christian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Cristhian Mosquera, Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres.
