Slow Horses season 5 release date, cast, trailer, plot and everything you need to know

Slow Horses season five will be hitting screens very soon and fans can hardly wait after the trailer launched recently after previously sharing a first look.

The Apple TV+ show is adapted from the best-selling Slough House novels by crime writer Mick Herron.

The British thriller first hit screens back in 2022 and has built up a firm following since then, earning critical and audience acclaim along the way.

Season four has a 100 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while it bagged an Emmy for writing as well as countless award nominations across the board for its stars, locations, writing and casting.

When will Slow Horses season 5 be released?

Slow Horses season five will be released on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, September 24 globally.

The show will be airing weekly as per Apple TV+’s release schedule for its TV series.

Like the previous seasons, there’s a total of six episodes in season five.

The fifth outing will conclude on October 29, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until then.

Who is in the cast of Slow Horses season 5?

Lead Gary Oldman reprises his role as Jackson Lamb, the head of Slough House.

The main cast of Slow Horses will be back in the frame, including the Oscar-nominated actress Kristin Scott Thomas as Diana Taverner, Emmy Award nominee Jack Lowden as River Cartwright, Saskia Reeves as Catherine Standish, Rosalind Eleazar as Louisa Guy, Christopher Chung as Roddy Ho, Aimee-Ffion Edwards as Shirley Dander, Ruth Bradley as Emma Flyte, James Callis as Claude Whelan, Tom Brooke as J.K. Coe, and Academy Award nominee Jonathan Pryce as David Cartwright.

Season five welcomes Ted Lasso’s Nick Mohammed in the guest role of Mayor Zafar Jaffrey.

What will happen in Slow Horses season 5?

Season five will take its cue from Herron’s award-winning novel London Rules from the series.

The new season will see the team left suspicious when Roddy has a glamorous new girlfriend.

However, a series of growingly strange incident across London leads the team to try and get to the bottom of the matter.

Lamb and Diana are both keen to know if Roddy’s girlfriend could be connected the bizarre events in the capital.

A trailer for season five dropped earlier this month and featured the highly cryptic logline: “A compromised agent, a destabilized [sic] London, and a can of paint. Slow Horses returns for a new season September 24 on Apple TV+.”

The teaser sees Slough House going into lockdown on Diana’s orders, with Lamb promptly telling River and the other Slow Horses to ignore her and break out of the building to investigate.

The group say they need an hour to carry out the “remaining action on their list” as they try to stop tragedy unfolding.

“We’re looking at over 5,000 potential targets.” Emma warns on the phone as a smoke pours off the roof of a central London building as bodies are said to be raining from the skies.

There is also much tension between Lamb and River, who warns: “I shouldn’t be in Slough House and everyone knows that.”

Fans will have to tune in next week to see how the drama unfolds when it finally premieres.
