Cleaning windows can be an annoying chore to undertake, as corners can be tricky to get to, and it can be hard to clean the outside window pane. However, a cleaning fan has taken to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips and Tricks Facebook page to share that there's a simple trick which can make the task so much easier.
Lynsey Evans said: "Oh my days, how have I got to 40 years old and only just discovered this window cleaning hack?! Most UPVC windows have a mechanism inside to either push down or slide across, which allows your windows to open fully so you can reach the outside pane for easy cleaning! I have a three-story house, so this is a godsend. Happy sparkling windows peeps - feeling amazed."
Lynsey found that her window was quite stiff to open once she had pressed the buttons, as she hadn't used this feature before.
Lynsey demonstrated what the window looks like when fully opened; there's enough room to reach your arm right through and wipe down the outside of the window with ease.
Taking to the comments, fellow group members were blown away by this discovery. Penny Smith wrote: "I'm 69 years old and only just found this out! I could have saved on window cleaners!"
Jacqui Kayton said: "Thanks for sharing - I'm 43 and didn't know this! Just checked my windows and I also have this! Thanks so much."
Laura Bishop commented, "No, stop it, I only found this out a few months ago. I used to get so mad after cleaning my windows inside because outside would be filthy."

Katie O'Sullivan said: "I only got told this two months ago!! Game changer." Laura DG wrote: "Omg I've found this out today! Thank you!"
However, it is worth noting that not all windows have this feature, so you'll have to check if yours does. Some members were left saddened that they didn't have these hinges on their windows.
Dean Johnson wrote: "Sadly, my windows don't have this mine open from the bottom, so no easy clean for me. Guess I will have to stick with me with my window cleaner."
Bearnie Walsh said, "I saw this a few weeks ago; unfortunately, I don't have it on my windows." Leesa Stearne said: "Looked for it on mine, but I'm obviously too old - great idea though!"
