The second series of Wednesday will recommence on Netflix on 3 September, following a dramatic part one finale that saw Wednesday Addams (portrayed by Jenna Ortega) confront the fury of Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan).

She had been delving into LOIS, a clandestine programme involving experiments on societal outcasts, when Tyler morphed into the Hyde and attacked her.

Simultaneously, the imprisoned outcasts managed to break free and sought vengeance on the mastermind behind the operation - Augustus Stonehurst's daughter Judi (Heather Matarazzo).

Judi's destiny remains uncertain, but there is a possibility that the covert programme may still be active according to a new theory, which predicts an unlikely hero coming to the rescue.

Nevermore Academy's newly appointed headteacher, Principal Dort (Steve Buscemi), has shown great enthusiasm towards the outcasts, but it's evident he harbours a hidden agenda yet to be disclosed.

It's possible that Principal Dort is involved with the LOIS programme, having been enlisted by Judi to identify potential test subjects.

Meanwhile, viewers are eagerly awaiting to discover the full extent of Slurp's (Owen Painter) involvement - the zombie resurrected by Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez).

At Willow Hill, Slurp referred to Augustus Stonehurst (Philip Philmar) as an "old friend", indicating they have undoubtedly encountered each other in the past.

Slurp ultimately murdered him, leading to speculation that Slurp might have been one of the initial LOIS experiments that went awry.

Slurp, desperate to terminate the LOIS programme, might be attempting to regain his human form to dismantle the entire operation.

If he manages to revert back to his human state, he could potentially aid Wednesday in revealing Principal Dort's real motives.

The tale of the skull tree provides insight into how Slurp met his end due to a malfunctioning experiment with one of his machines.

This further fuels the speculation that Slurp was a casualty of Stonehurst's experiments and is now seeking retribution.

Audiences will have to hold their breath to see if Slurp emerges as the unlikely saviour.

Wednesday season 2 part 2 drops on Netflix on September 3
